The anchor bolts transfer base-plate forces into the reinforced concrete. Bolt diameter, grade, quantity, bolt circle, projection, embedment, plate washers or templates and corrosion protection must be defined on the approved drawing. The cage should be assembled with rigid templates so that bolt spacing and verticality are maintained during concrete placement.
Before pouring concrete, verify orientation, top elevation, conduit positions and clearance for nuts and installation tools. After placement, protect exposed threads from concrete contamination and impact.
